DRY EYE THERAPY
Dry eye syndrome occurs when your eyes don’t produce enough tears or the tears evaporate too quickly, leading to inflammation and discomfort.
Symptoms to look out for:
-
A stinging or burning sensation in the eyes
-
Itchy or irritated eyes
-
Redness or inflammation
-
Sensitivity to light
-
Blurred vision
-
A feeling of something in your eye (foreign body sensation)
IPL (Intensed Pulsed Light) using OptiLight by Lumenis
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light therapy) is a special treatment that helps people with dry eyes feel better. Think of it like a warm light that helps your eyes work better!
How does IPL work?
The light warms up the tiny glands in your eyelids called meibomian glands. These glands keep your eyes moist. It helps reduce swelling and redness around your eyes. Tear Care improves tear breakup, destroys the abnormal blood vessels that cause inflammation, improve meibomian gland function and reduces the chance of infection.
What Can You Expect During Treatment?
Each IPL session takes about 15 minutes. You’ll wear special glasses to protect your eyes, and the treatment is gentle. Most people say it feels warm and soothing. After the treatment, you can go back to your normal activities right away. You might see a little redness, but that usually goes away quickly.
How Many Treatments Do You Need?
Initial treatment schedule is 4 sessions spaced 2-4 weeks apart to achieve optimal results. Patients often notice an improvement after 2-3 sessions. Patients may need additional sessions for maintenance.
Tear care
Tear Care treats dry eye by applying controlled heat to the eyelids to improve the function of the meibomian glands.
The TearCare® System is intended for the application of localized heat therapy in adult patients with evaporative dry eye disease due to meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), when used in conjunction with manual expression of the meibomian glands.
How does Tear Care work?
Tear Care gently warms the meibomian glands in your eyelids to the right temperature. After that, your optometrist will carefully press on the glands to clear them out and improve the flow of natural oils in your eyes, helping relieve dry eye symptoms.
What Can You Expect During Treatment ?
During Tear Care treatment, soft, flexible patches are placed on your eyelids to gently warm the meibomian glands. This helps loosen blockages, and after the heating phase, your optometrist will manually express the glands to clear them out, improving tear quality and relieving dry eye symptoms. The procedure is quick, comfortable, and typically completed in about 30 minutes.
How Many Treatments Do You Need?
Treatment is recommended every 6-8 months.

I’ve lived in Brambleton 20 yrs. My family has been going to insight eye optique since it opened. This place epitomizes what a small business should be. In a day and age when any small, privately owned business can hardly stand to compete with the bigger corporate stores…..they rely on customer service and professionalism I can’t recall being anything but truly fantastic. Simply put, I can’t say enough good things about Insight Eye Optique and their staff. Stop in their store, you will SEE yourself!😜

Insight eye Optique was great! Very polite, throughly checked my eyes and did a great job. Did tests that other eye doctors I have seen have skipped. I will definitely return with other family members.

Hands down the best experience! From the exam all the way to getting a new pair of glasses. Everyone, from the doctor to the front desk and sales associates, are very knowledgeable and attentive. I initially switched to Insight Eye Optique because they carry certain frame brands and I’m so happy I did. The service is top-notch and I got my eyeglasses earlier than expected! Thank you!
